You all might remember a photo-shoot I did with Angela and Przemek for FouR,
http://myskena.com/maciejblog/?p=335
It was a photo-shoot inspired by the story of Edie Sedgwick. And so was the collection of T-shirts with illustrated portraits of Eddie, and Warhol. Also Angela herself was a great motivation for us to make that project happen [check Angela's photos at her agency's website: Tateoka Office]
That photo-shoot was just an extension of the main project we’ve created that time. We made a video-project – short movie (or rather moving photograph, moving portrait). Project done in collaboration with Angela Reynolds (here as Edie Sedgwick) and Przemek Sobocki who was not only designer of the collection, but also did styling, and art directing for the whole project.
Cozue from Come did her hair.
Make-up by Yuco Aoki.

Now, after nearly a year, project is finally out. Please watch the video below.

Krash Japan, Finale!

krashjapan

Krash Japan vol.10 is out now!

Krash Japan is a magazine covering cultural information , but it’s not one more of those culture-art magazines from major, fancy and fashionable places. It’s from Kurashiki – small and charming city located in Okayama / Japan. The other surprising thing is that Krash Japan has ben beeing distributed internationally for free – but it’s not one of those cheap-looking free papers full of ugly advertisements. Krash Japan is a great quality magazine collaborating with many local, and international artists.

I had a chance to contribute to the issue 4. It was winter 2006 when chief editor (Yutaka Akahoshi) came to Wroclaw/Poland to make one day photoshoot with me for Krash Japan. It was a fashion story featuring jeans from Okayama (Jeans’ capital city of Japan).

I was also one of the artists invited to Kurashiki to create my own story as a part of Beyond Obscurity project. I won’t forget the time I’ve spent there, and kind people I’ve met there.

I also took photographs for fashion pages of issue number 7. Our models –  Zhou, and Jiajia -were Chinese guys temporarily working in one of the hotels in Kurashiki.

Krash Japan was designed as a cycle of 10 issues.

Last week issue 10 has been published. Project has been finalized.

Congratulations Mr Akahoshi! Krash Japan was a beautiful thing.
